Paul A Davies, PhD, Technical Solutions Manager, Sandvik Additive Manufacturing is presenting "Sustainable Metal Powders for Metal Injection Moulding and Sinter Based Additive Manufacturing" at the MIM Special Interest Seminar Sustainability of MIM, Monday Oct 2, 16.30-18.00.

Paul Davies studied physics at Swansea University, Wales, U.K., and completed a PhD in the field of Material Science. He has five years’ experience working in the steel industry in the automotive and defense sectors and has been with Sandvik for more than 15 years. He specializes in powder metallurgy, with a particular focus on Metal Injection Molding and Additive Manufacturing.

Faraz Deirmina, PhD, R&D Specialist Powder Metallurgy, Sandvik Additive Manufacturing is presenting "Hot Work Tool Steel Tailored for the Laser Powder Bed Fusion Processing" in collaboration with Swansea University and University of Trento.

Faraz Deirmina holds a PhD in materials engineering with a focus on powder metallurgy (PM) from Università degli Studi di Trento, and several years of experience from the metal additive manufacturing (AM) industry. His interests are alloy design for AM (tool steels, and Ni-based superalloys), materials characterization, and heat treatments. Faraz' recent focus, as principal R&D specialist, has been directed towards powder alloy design for AM, and tailored heat treatments for AM tool steels, and maraging steels.
