Martensitic stainless steel metal powder
The standard range of Osprey® metal powder includes martensitic stainless steel metal powder in grades of ASTM 410 to 440 types. The martensitic stainless steel metal powder is used in, for example, additive manufacturing and metal injection moulding (MIM).
Other martensitic stainless steels are also available. Contact us us to discuss our full range of metal powder alloys.

1) General purpose martensitic stainless steel.
2) Carbon increased to improved mechanical properties.
3) Carbon increase for highest hardness and chromium increased for corrosion resistance.
4) Carbon decreased slightly to improve toughness.
Thermal spray alloys
Martensitic stainless steels for thermal spray
Gas atomized metal powders suitable for flame spraying or metallizing, without subsequent fusion of the coating. Good surface preparation is fundamental to the success of this process and the application of a bond coat (SB 80) is recommended.
