Stainless steels
The standard range of Osprey® metal powder includes various types of stainless steels to be used in a wide range of applications, such as additive manufacturing and metal injection moulding (MIM).
The tables below show a selection of our stainless steels. Other stainless steels are also available. For example, we have several types of duplex stainless steel. Contact us to discuss the full range of metal powder alloys.

1) Essentially non-magnetic, becomes slightly magnetic when cold worked. Low carbon content means less carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone during welding and a lower susceptibility to intergranular corrosion.
2) Good corrosion resistance to most chemicals. High creep strength at elevated temperatures. The low carbon content reduces the possibility of in vivo corrosion for medical applications.
3) High-alloy austenitic stainless steel characterized by very good resistance to general corrosion in sulphuric, phosphoric and acetic acid as well as very good resistance to pitting corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
4) Nitrogen-strengthened anti-galling alloy with good corrosion resistance, of the same type as Nitronic® 50 which is a trademark owned by AK Steel Corporation.
5) Nitrogen-strengthened anti-galling alloy of the same type as Nitronic® 60 which is a trademark owned by AK Steel Corporation.
6) Heat-resistant steel is typically used in automotive applications.
