Titanium powders Osprey® Ti-6Al-4V Grade 5 and Grade 23 are manufactured to the highest international standards by an electrode inert gas atomization (EIGA) system. The powders are characterized by, for example:

  • High purity
  • Homogeneous microstructure
  • Excellent consistency

Osprey® TI-6AL-4V Grade 5 and Grade 23 are used in, for example, the medical, aerospace, automotive and engineering industries for applications that require significant weight saving while maintaining high performance.

The grades are also suitable for repair and refurbishment of worn and damaged components by Direct Energy Deposition.

The management system of Sandvik’s new powder plant in Sweden, producing Osprey®
titanium powders, received the ‘ISO 13485:2016’ medical certification –
meaning it is now approved to produce powders for use in the additive
manufacturing of medical devices.
